This story focuses on the Druid, Morlah, who awakes after being asleep for over six hundred years to find out that the world he left behind has changed dramatically. Although it is short, sixty pages or so, it is delightful and will interest anyone who appreciates a Kafkaesque tale or any interested in the life of the inner Earth. The last two thirds of this novel will take you on a wild ride. But he's the new kid, unsure of himself socially (a nice realistic touch), and on the bad side of the senior he beat out for that varsity slot. My daughter learned a lot from this book and it helped her love science even more.
