The stories and characters are fully fleshed, with enough detail and pace to satisfy the most discerning reader. The author manages to insert ABC lists four times into Bad Kitty, which is quite an accomplishment in and of itself, but he also keeps the story moving forward to hold childrens' interest. After awhile, she figured out he was being manipulated by someone through an ear bud, who was directing this hostage abduction. It highlights all the characters and gives each plenty of print space. The authors communicated so well how our wounds in life keep us from having the close relationships we are meant to have with God and with others. My younger son, who was then 4, loves to be read to but his taste is a bit on the older side as he has 3 older siblings who are in their teens.
